Joyful Place Respite Ministry

Joyful Place Respite provides a welcoming, supportive space for adults living with mild to moderate memory loss or related conditions. Trained staff and volunteers lead engaging activities like music, creative arts, exercise, games, pet visits, and more. Lunch is included, and participants can attend one or two days a week.

This ministry also gives caregivers a needed break, offering peace of mind while their loved ones enjoy fellowship and stimulation. In addition, our Joyful Chapel service meets monthly with a gentle worship experience designed for those with memory loss, their caregivers, and the wider community.

Joyful Place meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Admission to the respite ministry will be based on the applicant's ability to participate and the initial interview with the director. We take the following things into consideration when evaluating whether or not someone would benefit from our program.

  • Medical stability - a participant may be frail and have medical concerns, but must be stable.
  • Ability to eat and attend to bathroom needs on their own.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk independently or with the use of a cane or walker.
  • Would benefit from a group respite setting

Please call or email with any questions or interest. We look forward to hearing from you!

Support for Caregivers

Caring for a loved one is gratifying, but it can also be

challenging. This ministry provides respite (an inter-

val of rest or relief) for the caregiver. It supports

families in their desire to keep their loved ones in the

home environment by providing a non residential

option for respite.

Trained professionals and volunteers offer fun,

acceptance, companionship, lead activities, and

provide supervision.

While at Joyful Place Respite, caregivers can:

  • Run errands
  • Take care of business
  • Relax, spend time for self-care
  • Have time for leisure activities, visit others

Caregivers enjoy peace of mind knowing their loved

ones are spending time in a caring, fun, and

supportive environment.

Come to me all who are weary and burdened

and I will give you rest.
