about
Trinity United Methodist Church is a welcoming community of everyday people who place their trust in Jesus, discovering His love in real life and joining Him in transforming our world with healing, hope, and purpose.

The Trinity UMC Story
Following Jesus. Growing Faith. Serving Our World.
Trinity United Methodist Church began on October 30, 1960, when jeweler Elmer Dean and 37 charter members organized the church in the Wright community. Without a building of their own, they met in the cafeteria of W.C. Pryor Jr. High School. After months of hard work, the congregation celebrated a groundbreaking on Racetrack Road, turning the first spadeful of soil to mark the start of their new home.
Since then, Trinity has remained on Racetrack Road, growing into a thriving community with three buildings that host worship, education, and even our preschool. From the completion of the new sanctuary in 1976 to the “Imagine” campaign in 2018, the congregation has continually invested in its facilities and ministries to reach the community and serve people of all ages.
Today, Trinity UMC continues to be a place where faith grows, relationships flourish, and lives are transformed—carrying forward a legacy that began over 60 years ago.
No matter where you are in your faith, we want to walk alongside you. Our hope is that as we can join you on your journey to discovering that God is active, alive, and at work in your life.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Trinity United Methodist Church is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, a global denomination that opens hearts, minds, and doors through active engagement with our world. We offer healing, help, and hope in Jesus Christ through genuine, heartfelt worship and learning experiences. Our beliefs are based on biblical patterns and principles revealed in the Word of God...
ABOUT GOD
We believe there is one true and living God who is eternal, holy, all-powerful, and ever-present. God is the maker and preserver of all things– both what is seen and what is not seen.
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, the Word became flesh and the savior of ALL humankind. He was crucified, died, was buried andresurrected, and rose into heaven.
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is at work in the world and lives of persons. It transforms, empowers, and guides believers. Through the Holy Spirit, we experience the fruit of the Spirit and spiritual gifts.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inherent word of God. It serves as the cornerstone of our personal discipleship, offering everything we need to truly know God and cultivate a meaningful relationship with God. Embracing scripture daily inspires us to live in alignment with God’s truth and love.
ABOUT GRACE
United Methodists believe in three stages of Grace–
- Prevenient: Grace at work in our world, drawing ALL to God;
- Justifying: Grace that brings us into the right relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ;
- Sanctifying: Grace that continues to work in us to transform us into the image of Christ.
- Prevenient: Grace at work in our world, drawing ALL to God;
ABOUT SACRAMENTS
United Methodists observe two Sacraments: Baptism and Holy Communion. We recognize baptism at any age, including infant baptism and all forms therein. Communion is an open table– available to all who love Him, who earnestly repent of their failures and misdeeds, and who seek to live in peace with one another.
ABOUT JOHN WESLEY
United Methodists claim John Wesley as the founder of our denomination. He reminds us that we are to...
Do No Harm; Do Good; Stay in love with God
